Kuhila koth is one of the chief handicrafts of the Batadrava region of Nowgong district. Kuhila is cultured in the low lying, wet area. The section that remains under the water is which is used. The fibrous external layer is scraped with a knife and then dehydrated in the sun. It is then cut laterally into little pieces which are woven on a simple loom like tool prepared of wood and bamboo poles. The items created consist of seats, mats and cushions.
