Kantha Stiches are probably the embroidery of oldest form that has kept the  women of Bengal engaged. Kantha embroidery is usually made on silk and cotton fabrics from India. Regularly done in saris of India and dhotis- Kantha embroidery mainly composed of running stitches used for creating various motifs of flowers, images of birds, animal and geometrical patterns.
