The chief tribal group at this point and at Kishangarh are the Banjaras. Costumes are printed all along with jajams and spreads. The spreads are habitually in red and yellow, with the design pattern being scorpions, centipedes or chaupars. Red and yellow are as well used for jajams. The prints on these comprise of the chowki, singhara or mirchi / chilli designs with patterns of creepers, kanwal or ladders next to the margins. Reja cloth is used to make floor spreads or padharnas.
The ornamentation used are those of the elephant, cheeta, chaupar and soldiers and many more. Mill prepared long cloth or pharad is in addition used together with fine cloth similar to cambric. It is furthermore printed on muslins and silks. High-quality printing is not achieved on fine cloth and is too noticeable on the reverse surface. Nevertheless elaborate designs can be printed just on fine cloth, instead of crude fabric. In conventional printing, animal motifs are not printed on cloth designed for costumes. Chemical colours and innovative printing process and techniques are found in the hand-printed craft in recent times.
